Terms of Service

Welcome to CiteGEO. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and CiteGEO ("CiteGEO," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of the AI Visibility Intelligence platform available at https://citegeo.ai.

By creating an account, accessing, or using CiteGEO, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use CiteGEO.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of CiteGEO after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

CiteGEO is an AI Visibility Intelligence platform. We help businesses and marketers understand how AI answer engines (like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Groq) perceive and discuss their brand.

Here's what CiteGEO does:

• Queries third-party AI models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Groq) on your behalf to analyze your brand's visibility in AI-generated responses
• Generates visibility scores, detailed audit reports, content briefs, and optimization recommendations
• Tracks changes in your brand's AI visibility over time
• Provides a free RAG Readiness Grader tool that evaluates how well your website is structured for AI retrieval

While we strive for high availability, we do not guarantee that CiteGEO will be available 24/7. We may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information. Your registration information (name, email) must be truthful and current. You must update it if it changes.
• Keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Choose a strong password and do not share it with anyone.
• Maintain one account. You must not create multiple free accounts to bypass plan limits or circumvent restrictions.
• Protect your credentials. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, notify us immediately at [email protected].

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or engage in abusive behavior.

CiteGEO offers the following subscription plans:

Payment Processing

All payments are processed by LemonSqueezy (owned by Stripe), our Merchant of Record. LemonSqueezy handles billing, tax collection, refunds, chargebacks, and payment compliance on our behalf. We do not directly store your credit card information.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your CiteGEO dashboard or through the LemonSqueezy customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you'll retain access until then.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, unless required by applicable law. If you believe you're entitled to a refund, contact us and we'll work with LemonSqueezy to resolve it.

Plan Limits

Each plan has defined limits on the number of audits, keywords, and LLM models you can use. These limits are enforced automatically and reset at the start of each monthly billing cycle.

Some features on the Agency plan may be described as "unlimited." These features are subject to a fair use policy.

Fair use means normal business usage — running audits for your brands and clients as part of your regular workflow. It does not include:

• Automated scraping or programmatic mass-querying of our platform
• Reselling CiteGEO data or access to third parties
• Running an unreasonable volume of audits that significantly exceeds typical business usage

We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that exceed 200 audits per month on any plan, or that we determine are abusing the platform.

Automated access to CiteGEO (using bots, scrapers, or other automated tools) without our express written permission is prohibited.

You agree not to use CiteGEO to:

• Harass, defame, threaten, or harm others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the platform
• Send spam or unsolicited communications
• Upload malicious content or attempt to inject code (XSS, SQL injection, etc.)
• Resell access to CiteGEO or redistribute its data without our permission
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to extract data from CiteGEO
• Attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limiting, or other restrictions
• Use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, without refund.

What We Own

CiteGEO owns all rights to the platform's code, design, branding, user interface, scoring algorithms, methodology, and original content. These are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

What You Own

You retain full ownership of your brand data, keywords, and any information you provide to CiteGEO.

Generated Content

Audit results, content briefs, and optimization recommendations generated by CiteGEO are licensed to you for your personal or business use. You may use these outputs in your marketing and business operations.

Restrictions

You may not redistribute, resell, or publicly share CiteGEO's proprietary scoring algorithms, methodology, or internal processes. Sharing your own audit results and recommendations for your brands is fine.

CiteGEO queries third-party AI models to generate audit results. These include:

• OpenAI (ChatGPT / GPT models)
• Anthropic (Claude)
• Google (Gemini)
• Perplexity (via OpenRouter)
• Groq

Important things to understand about AI-generated results:

• We don't control AI outputs. We query these models on your behalf and present their responses, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or consistency of what they say.
• AI responses may contain inaccuracies. CiteGEO provides visibility intelligence and insights — not guaranteed facts. AI models can hallucinate, make errors, or produce different results at different times.
• Third-party changes affect our service. If an AI provider changes their model behavior, pricing, API, or availability, some CiteGEO features may be temporarily affected or reduced.
• Provider outages may impact features. If a third-party AI provider becomes temporarily unavailable, audits using that provider may be delayed or limited until service is restored.

Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data.

Key points:

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Period.
• We use Google Analytics (GA4) for anonymous website analytics.
• We use LemonSqueezy for payment processing — they handle your payment information securely.
• We use Google OAuth for optional social login — only basic profile info (name, email) is accessed, with your consent.
• When we send your brand name and keywords to AI models for auditing, no personally identifiable information (PII) is included in those queries.

CiteGEO is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied.

We make no guarantees about:

• The accuracy or completeness of AI-generated audit results
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform
• The continued availability of any third-party AI model or service
• Specific business outcomes from using our recommendations

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of CiteGEO
• Our total liability for any claim related to CiteGEO is limited to the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not responsible for losses caused by third-party AI model changes, downtime, errors, or discontinuation

By You

You can delete your account at any time from your CiteGEO dashboard. Upon deletion:

• Your active subscription (if any) will be cancelled through LemonSqueezy, and no further charges will apply
• Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days
• Payment records will be retained for 7 years as required by tax and legal obligations

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in abusive, fraudulent, or illegal activity
• Attempt to circumvent plan limits or fair use policies
• Fail to pay for your subscription

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except where your behavior poses an immediate risk to the platform or other users.

These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the operating jurisdiction of CiteGEO, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

If a dispute arises:

1. Good-faith negotiation first. We will try to resolve the issue informally through direct communication. Most concerns can be addressed by emailing [email protected].
2. Formal resolution. If we cannot resolve the dispute through negotiation within 30 days, either party may submit the dispute to a court of competent jurisdiction in CiteGEO's operating jurisdiction.

Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer rights granted to you by the laws of your country of residence.
