About CiteGEO

CiteGEO is an AI Visibility Intelligence platform that audits how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Groq describe a brand, scores that visibility 0–100 across each model, and generates publish-ready content briefs that close the gaps.

What CiteGEO does

CiteGEO is the operating system for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). It runs scheduled audits against five leading large language models with six prompt variations per target keyword, then quantifies visibility (mention rate, prominence, sentiment), competitor share of voice, and the third-party domains the models cite when forming an answer. The platform is built for the practical operator question: if a buyer asks an AI about my category, am I in the answer, or is a competitor?

Where traditional SEO optimizes for Google's blue links, GEO optimizes for inclusion in the AI's answer itself. CiteGEO supplies the four things an operator needs to run that loop weekly: a measurement, a competitive baseline, a publish-ready brief, and a way to track whether the line bends after shipping.

Who CiteGEO is for

CiteGEO is built for the people who already know AI search has shifted the ground under them and need a measurement loop they can act on:

  • Founders and operators at SaaS, e-commerce, and service businesses who want to know whether AI search is sending them customers or routing them to a competitor.
  • SEO professionals and content teams who need to extend their keyword strategy into AI answer engines without abandoning their current stack.
  • Agencies managing visibility for many brands and clients, particularly those reporting AI mention metrics and wanting to automate the measurement loop.
  • PR and brand teams monitoring how a brand is described across AI tools, especially after launches, rebrands, or controversies.

What the platform measures

On every audit, CiteGEO records four things per model-prompt pair: whether the brand was mentioned, where it appeared in the answer, the sentiment of the mention, and which third-party sources the model cited. Those signals roll up into a 0–100 visibility score per AI model and a weighted overall score, broken down by prompt category.

The five AI models tracked are ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Groq (running Llama). For each, the audit uses the model's default sampling so results reflect what a real user would see, not a deterministic best case.

The RAG Readiness Grader

The platform's free, no-signup wedge is the RAG Readiness Grader. It scans any public URL and grades the site across eight dimensions on an A-to-F scale: schema markup, semantic HTML, content depth, crawler access for AI bots, page speed signals, AI-specific signals (llms.txt and related), entity disambiguation, and authoritative outbound links. Most operators discover their site is invisible to GPTBot or ClaudeBot within the first scan.

Origin and ownership

CiteGEO was founded in 2026 and is operated by CiteGEO Labs. The product was built in response to a structural shift in search: by early 2026, over 60% of online information-seeking queries had begun to be handled, at least in part, by AI-generated answers, and existing SEO tooling had no instrument for measuring that surface.
